This course will grow your managerial expertise and put foundations in place to ensure you continue developing through your professional life. You’ll also learn how organisations are structured, and gain insight into what makes them function best. Speakers from industry visit regularly to complement our own research-led teaching – giving you a well-rounded, real-world knowledge of business and the tools needed to succeed in it. You can complete your Business Studies course as a four year single honours degree, or combine it with one of 17 different subjects to fine-tune your focus. Your first year will give you a broad grounding in business and management, covering areas such as the history of management, decision-making for business, and management practice. Your second year of study will focus in on fundamentals that include the organisation of business, business economics and accounting and finance for business. Years three and four are structured to ensure you follow a programme of interlinked core modules, which range from entrepreneurship to strategic management, and business ethics to business research methods.
