The University of Tampa’s major in cybersecurity is a cutting-edge program that teaches students to protect the confidentiality, availability and integrity of information and information systems that support modern organizations. Students receive a comprehensive education that focuses on both the fundamentals of information systems as well as advanced topics in areas such as network security, cryptography, risk management, security governance, business continuity, security architecture, physical security and critical infrastructures. A minor in cybersecurity and a master's in cybersecurity are also offered. A key feature of UT’s cybersecurity major is that it prepares students for professional security certifications and designation, such as the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) exam. The program also gives students extensive hands-on experience using industry standard tools in a modern cybersecurity lab.
