Academic requirements:

  • A Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 5.0/7.0
  • Or an ANU Graduate Certificate of Accounting with a minimum GPA of 4.5/7.0
English requirements:

  • TOEFL: Paper-based score: 570 (min. 4.5 in TWE); Internet-based score: 80 (min. 20 in reading and writing, 18 in speaking and listening)
  • IELTS: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest)
  • PTE Academic: 64 overall (min. 55 in each of the communicative skills)

Career opportunities

You’ll be prepared to carry out research in basic, medical or agricultural sciences in university, industry or government research institutions. Opportunities exist in scientific, pharmaceutical and pathology companies, or in government and public service positions. Completing a Master of Biotechnology (Advanced), with a research component, can also lead to a PhD.
