Overview

The current location was founded on July 13, 1899, as Brandon College as a Baptist institution. Some of the most notable alumni of the university are: Tommy Douglas, the father of medicare and The Greatest Canadian; Dr. Stanley Knowles, Member of Parliament; Jonathan Filewich, former National Hockey League hockey player; John W.M. Thompson, Manitoba MLA and Provincial Cabinet Minister.
