Program overview
In all Brunel University London postgraduate Engineering degrees, students develop a range of skills valued by employers such as communication, critical thinking, analysis, research and project management skills. Each programme has a strong contemporary feel and relates theory and concepts to the practical issues facing employers and employees in the 21st Century. Successful completion of the postgraduate degree can lead to career opportunities in IT, computing, social networking, project management and information systems development.
Students will develop a range of academic and communicative skills necessary for successful study at postgraduate level. They will also develop a range of transferable communicative skills (written and oral) that prepare students for professional life and develop independent learning and encourage students to take responsibility for their personal, academic and professional development.

A minimum score of GPA 3.5/5 or GPA 5/10 (if ECTS Grading System) from a well ranked higher education institution.
IELTS - 6.0 overall with no bands below 5.5
Duolingo - 100 overall with no bands below 90
TOEFL iBT - 79 overall (Reading 18, Listening 17, Speaking 20, Writing 17)
Course has additional entry requirements of three years’ work experience in a postgraduate professional environment.
Career opportunities
- Engineering
Some of our graduates have taken on roles such as R&D engineer, biomedical specialist in intensive care monitoring and ventilation, product safety associate and engineer laboratory technician.
Others have used the accumulated knowledge and skills taught in the course to join other industries, and indeed some have gone on to carry out PhD research.
- Design
Our graduates are working for companies like Design Bridge, Saffron, Imagination, Interbrand and Ogilvy. They have taken on roles such as brand strategist, brand consultant, brand manager and creative director.
You’ll have the opportunity to participate in a Rich Design series of optional intensive workshops on specialist topics based on the interests of you and your peers, and staff expertise.
