Program overview

The Biomedical Science BSc (Hons) is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS). Biomedical science is the term for the investigations carried out by biomedical scientists, usually working in the NHS, on samples of tissue and body fluids to diagnose disease and monitor the treatment of patients.

Requirements

GCSEs Five GSCEs at grade C/4 or above, including Maths and English Plus one of the following: A levels A minimum of 120 points from at least two A levels including Human Biology, Biology or Chemistry at grade C or above BTEC BTEC National Diploma - Science BTEC Distinction/Distinction/Merit BTEC Extended Diploma - Science BTEC Distinction/Distinction/Merit International Baccalaureate 28+ with six higher level points in Chemistry or Biology Access to HE Diploma Pass QAA Accredited AHE (Science) with at least 30 credits at Merit, 15 of these must be in Chemistry or Biology. GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above. Interview: No Work experience: No Personal statement selection criteria Clear communication skills, including good grammar and spelling Information relevant to the course applied for Interest in the course demonstrated with explanation and evidence If relevant for the course - work and life experience We welcome applications from mature students with non-standard qualifications English language requirements: If English is not your first language an IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent when you start the course is essential.
