Students undertaking the graduate certificate may select their own program of study by enrolling in any combination of topics offered in the following specialisations: cognitive psychology and educational practice, gifted education, higher education, international baccalaureate middle years program (IBMYP), languages education, leadership and management, special education, wellbeing and positive mental health. Masters students complete an in-depth coursework program consisting of topics selected from the following specialisations: cognitive psychology and educational practice, educational research, evaluation and assessment, gifted education, higher education, international baccalaureate, languages education, leadership and management, special education, wellbeing and positive mental health.

Applicants for the Master of Education will qualify for either the 2-year or 1.5-year program. Applicants who hold an approved bachelor degree in any discipline are eligible for the basic entry level, and will complete up to 72 units of study. Applicants who hold a bachelor degree in education, teaching or a closely related discipline are eligible for the 1.5-year program, and will complete up to 54 units of study. Different specialisations may have additional entry requirements. An Australian year 12 qualification or international equivalent; OR At least one standard full-time year (1.0 FTE) in a single program of degree level study at an Australian higher education institution or international equivalent; OR Foundation program.
