Program overview

In the first semester, you will be taught the skills and techniques of written formal analysis. You will have the option to learn the core skills of practical film making. These units will provide the foundation for optional units across the year, many of which will incorporate elements of intensive practice alongside more traditional critical and theoretical learning. In the second semester, you will develop an understanding of research approaches within film and television studies, which will provide you with the necessary foundation to progress to the dissertation stage.

1) An upper second-class honours degree (or international equivalent). Evidence of commitment to the academic study of film and television through methods including criticism, theory, practice and research. 2) If English is not your first language, you need to meet this profile level: Profile B (IELTS 7.0 overall with 7.0 in writing and 6.5 in all other skills, TOEFL iBT 95 overall with R22, L21, S23, W24)
