Overview

Hull has everything from friendly academics, to beautiful campus, and superb facilities. It is committed to providing its students with top-class facilities and an ideal environment in which to live and learn, which is why it's undergoing a £200-million project to dramatically improve its buildings and facilities.

Hull's new luxury student accommodation, The Courtyard, is now open, with an even bigger, £130-million accommodation complex coming on its west campus soon. A £28-million health campus, spearheaded by the state-of-the-art Allam Medical Building, opened last September. And it has also spent £9.5 million on turning Middleton Hall into one of the region’s best performance venues and cinemas.

The University has particular research expertise in social justice, environmental technologies and maritime history. The work in healthcare, 3D visualization and nanotechnology is also widely respected. In research terms, it is perhaps best known for developing liquid-crystal technology. For that breakthrough, it received the Queen’s Award for Technological Achievement.
