In CUHK-Shenzhen, we emphasize both time-tested traditions and modernity, and combine Chinese cultures with global perspectives. As our university motto (“博文约礼”) indicates, our university provides a comprehensive education to broaden our students’ intellectual horizon and capacity, and to help our students to grow to be socially responsible citizens with global perspectives. School of Humanities and Social Science has two important missions for our university’s education. First, HSS provides university core courses for all university students in multiple areas, including general education, English language competency, Chinese language competency, physical education and fitness, basic competency in information technology (IT) applications, etc. These areas lay the foundation for the comprehensive education that all CUHK-Shenzhen students receive.

All applicants should fulfill the requirements prescribed below:· Graduated from a recognized university and obtained a Bachelor’s degree, normally achieving an average grade of not lower than “B” ; or Graduated from an honors programme of a recognized university with a Bachelor’s degree, normally with honors not lower than Second Class; or· Completed a course of study in a tertiary educational institution and obtained professional or similar qualifications equivalent to an honour’s degree.
