The MA is a top-up degree comprising of two of three modules which will further develop your leadership skills, academic rigour and ability to link research to practice. You will build on your existing postgraduate skills and knowledge and increase your confidence in appraisal of literature. Employers are progressively looking for more people with competent research skills who are able to deliver evidence based practice. As part of your studies you will carry out an independent research informed study. Here you will devise and present a proposal for a change project. During this time, our expert lecturers will be on hand to support and give you confidence in appraising and designing your own study. They will help you to enhance your ability to work independently. Here, you will learn to synthesise and critically appraise vital healthcare research.

Applicants should have: A first degree, usually at 2.2 or above PLUS a postgraduate diploma obtained through, for example, a programme of study which leads to registration with the Nursing or Midwifery Council (NMC) or the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). OR equivalent 120 credits at level 7, e.g. health-related CPD credited courses
