The course explores the origins of globalisation where east and west meet. It follows the women and men - sailors, slaves, merchants, criminals - who passed through Greenwich en route to making the modern world. It introduces you to a range of historical methods and historiography, and aims to help you develop as a critical, analytical thinker and communicator. You will work with creative and inspiring teachers and researchers whose work shapes the modules you'll follow. The course traces over 500 years of British and global history through the buildings, museums and outdoor spaces of Greenwich and London. Our 'History in practice' and work placement modules provide an opportunity to apply your historical knowledge and skills to a range of organisations and employers.

The University of Greenwich accepts a broad range of international qualifications for admission to our courses, such as the International Baccalaureate.
