Why Mechanical Engineering at UNB? Many of New Brunswick’s successful mechanical engineers have graduated from UNB’s Mechanical Engineering program. That’s because the program offers exciting and diverse program options, including Biomedical Engineering and Mechatronics. Hands-on learning: Co-operative Education (Co-op) program; Coursework requiring hands-on design projects; On-campus machine shop for building and testing prototypes. Skills you will acquire: Analyze, design, improve, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems and devices; Solve problems using applied physics and other science disciplines; Find solutions that respect the environment and other stakeholders; Communicate technical solutions; Work with other engineering disciplines.

Course requirements: Senior English Literature (70% or higher); Senior Math, including Pre-Calculus (70% or higher); 1 other academic math; Senior Chemistry (70% or higher); Senior Physics (70% or higher); 1 elective from group 1, 2 or 4 (60% or higher); Minimum admission average: 75%. Campus: Students may complete all 4 years of these Engineering programs in Fredericton, or may complete the first two years in Saint John and then transfer to Fredericton for the remainder of their program. International students require the following English language proficiency minimum scores for direct entry into most academic programs: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 85, CAEL 60, or Pearson Vue Test 59.
