Some say that education is just a matter of building bridges. This program takes that literally. Running since the early 1970s, this fully accredited MSc course will build your advanced capabilities in specialist aspects of bridge engineering. It is taught by academics with a keen interest and track record in bridge-related research and practice, alongside guest lectures from industry professionals within the field of bridge engineering and management. Completion of this course will help you successfully pursue a career as a bridge engineer with a consultancy, a specialist contractor or a local authority.

A minimum of 60 per cent in a UK honours degree in civil engineering accredited to CEng, with a minimum of 60 per cent in Structures and Codified Design subjects. Alternatively, a minimum of 70 per cent in a UK honours degree in civil engineering accredited to IEng, plus approval from the relevant institution. Program also accepts a recognised equivalent international qualification. At least five years’ relevant industrial experience (preferably codified design) or a professional qualification (for example, CEng) will also be considered if you don’t meet these requirements. For postgraduate taught courses, a Specialist Diploma and Baklavar will all be considered as suitable qualifications for entry depending on grades and subjects studied. To apply for one of postgraduate courses that require a UK 2:1, you must achieve a GPA of 4.1 our of 5.0. For courses that require a UK 2:2, you must achieve a GPA of 3.9 out of 5.0. For courses that require a UK first-class degree to be eligible for a scholarship, you must achieve an overall GPA of 4.3 out of 5.0.
