Welcome to the Master of Science in Finance, the flagship of the Shenzhen Finance Institute. We are a high-quality programme, featuring an international education standard, English immersion learning environment, led by top-level academics and practitioners with training and experience from all over the world. The programme aims to cultivate excellent, high-skills professionals with deep theoretical training and practical capabilities. As you read on, you'll quickly realize that we offer quite a unique programme, which inherits the academic rigor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, but goes beyond in a variety of ways. First, our curriculum is built around a combination of world-class, internationally-trained faculty, and senior-level financial practitioners. Students gain a deep foundation of theory, supplemented with practical applications involving both domestic and international financial sectors. There's an emphasis on quantitative methods and programming language training, to ensure that students build a deep analytical toolkit. And a wide range of elective courses offer breadth and depth across a variety of emerging technologies and timely, local market financial topics. While MSc Finance is a taught programme, further enrichment comes from interaction with SFI's several Finance Research Centers. Funded separately, these Centers are sources of leading-edge research in important areas such as FinTech, Macro-Financial Stability and Innovation, Institutions and Capital Markets, just to name a few. The Centers help to attract a steady stream of visitors and lectures from top academics, Nobel laureates, and C-suite leaders of commercial and government institutions. And finally, our 18-month programme provides the flexibility to take advantage of dynamic Shenzhen, and students are encouraged to supplement their classroom education with a series of related internships. Yes, the training is rigorous, but there's an extensive support network. Our small class size results in a low student-faculty ratio, ensuring frequent contact with instructors and tutors. Beyond this we have a strong career center and an involved alumni network, and coordinate an active social calendar, to encourage development of the all-important professional network.
