We offer a range of core modules in human geography, covering major contemporary issues, such as globalisation, identity, racism and nationalism. You can also choose modules from other disciplines, such as anthropology and international development. We offer local and international field trips, catering to a range of themes in human geography including urbanisation, gender and globalisation. Birkbeck teaching takes place in the evening, enabling you to work and study at the same time. You will study in small classes with internationally recognised researchers, interacting with fellow students, some of whom are already working in relevant sectors. Birkbeck's professional recruitment service, Birkbeck Talent, can help you secure paid internships and work opportunities. Graduates in the BA Human Geography find employment in a range of areas including local government, public service, the community sector and teaching.

Applicants from Russia would be expected to have completed one year of a Bakalavr/Specialist Diploma at a recognised university with an average grade of at least 4/5 OR a recognised undergraduate Foundation course, which allows students the chance to progress onto Birkbeck’s Bachelor programmes.
