Обзор программы
The experience design and management major consists of sixty-four credit hours in addition to general university core classes. The program prepares students through rigorous course work, hands-on experience, and mentored career preparation. A special emphasis is placed on experiential learning as well as application of management knowledge to the field of recreation, events, and venues.
After completing pre-management courses and gaining acceptance into the program, students must complete the ExDM junior core which provides them with exposure to business functions and management skills. Students also complete a sequence of courses according to the emphasis they choose. All ExDM students must complete an internship in order to graduate.
In addition to active engagement in classes, students are encouraged to participate in clubs and be proactive in their networking efforts. By fully immersing themselves in the program, students will have the optimal BYU Marriott experience.
Требования
Экзамены:
The ExDM major is a limited-enrollment program, so students are required to apply for admittance. In order to have a strong application, we recommend taking the following steps:
Earn strong grades in the prerequisite courses.
Take other recommended courses, including M COM 320, IS 110, and IS 201.
Join the Event and Venue Management Club.
Complete an on-campus internship or relevant work experience.
Correctly format and polish your résumé.
Most students apply after their sophomore year. The application consists of four parts:
GPA: Prerequisite, overall BYU, and last 30-credit hour GPAs are all considered.
Résumé: We value content-rich résumés that are properly formatted and polished.
Essay: We look for a demonstration of passion in recreation, events, and venue management areas.
Transcripts: Transcripts are examined for past academic performance.
To apply, you must:
Be willing to live to the Honor Code
Submit ACT or SAT score (if you have fewer than 24 college credits)
Submit English Proficiency Score (If required)
Submit full documentation of all required transcripts. Some U.S. applicants may have completed foreign high school or college work. This work will need evaluation by a third-party credential evaluation company. See Evaluating International Work for more details.
Pay $35 application fee
