The marketing major is a 64-credit hour limited enrollment program. The program accepts 90 students yearly to start marketing coursework Fall semester. Students are encouraged to take 12-15 credits each semester after admittance so they can graduate in 3-4 semesters. Students take the marketing junior core, a 10-credit envelope of classes, their first semester. Marketing is the business function of analyzing markets and understanding consumers to improve goods and services, and provide them at the optimal time, place and price. As a discipline, marketing combines both creativity and analytics, with a wide variety of career options allowing graduates to find their dream job.

Most students apply after their sophomore year. GPA, resume, and an essay will be evaluated. GPA: Both prerequisite and BYU coursework grades are considered. A minimum 3.0 prerequisite GPA is required to be eligible to apply. Résumé: Content-rich résumés that are properly formatted and polished. Essay: 100-600 words in response to the following prompt: We want to admit students who will be successful marketers. The key attributes of successful marketers include a passion for marketing, strong work ethic, and the ability and desire to learn. Given these attributes, market yourself by demonstrating evidence of these attributes from your life experiences such as prior work experience, internships, competitions, club participation, or coursework. Describe in detail one or two specific experiences. Recorded Interview: Record a short response to an interview prompt. To apply, you must: Be willing to live to the Honor Code Submit ACT or SAT score (if you have fewer than 24 college credits) Submit English Proficiency Score (If required) Submit full documentation of all required transcripts. Some U.S. applicants may have completed foreign high school or college work. This work will need evaluation by a third-party credential evaluation company.
