You will be exposed to research of national and international significance and acquire generic skills in research design and implementation, critical thinking and data analysis, digital literacy and scientific communication. You will also develop valuable skills for life-long learning; an essential professional attribute in this ever-evolving field. The coursework component of the honours program provides you with essential knowledge in areas that underpin research - experimental design, quantitative analysis and science professionalism. The research project component enables you to develop the research skills necessary to investigate an area of interest. You will have the support and supervision of our experienced staff throughout your honours program and will graduate with skills that provide you with a competitive edge in the job market and an ideal pathway to further study and research training (including Masters and PhD programs).

Entry will be based on performance in: a Bachelor degree or major in a related discipline with a WAM (Weighted Average Mark) of at least 65% in all level 3 and level 4 units (for Deakin awards) or final year units (for awards from other providers) OR other evidence of academic capability judged to be equivalent IELTS: minimum score of 6.5, with no subscore less than 6.0 or Paper-based TOEFL: 577 (Writing 4.5) or Internet-based (IBT) TOEFL: a score of 70 (with minimum score of 21 in Writing) or Pearson Test of English (Academic): an overall score of 58 with no score less than 50
