Apply a critical lens to understanding environmental issues and potentially solving environmental problems at the heart of today’s modern world. Students will benefit from melding academic approaches and understanding with current and unfolding real world issues. This is done by identifying, examining and analyzing human/environmental issues around such things as, but not limited to, the Alberta Tar Sands, natural resource extraction, and climate change as they may impact ecosystem and human health. Students will also gain hands on field experience through a field work course and, perhaps, a fourth year thesis.
