You will benefit from access to the state-of-the-art research facilities at the Medical School, including bioanalytical equipment such as high performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, DNA and protein analytical equipment, computer-based image analysers for molecular or cellular studies. You may also have the opportunity to spend time undertaking research in industrial or medical laboratories either in the UK or abroad. A mix of compulsory and optional modules gives you the flexibility to tailor your degree to your particular interests, career ambitions, or plans for further study.

A-levels/Welsh Baccalaureate: AAB-BBB. Chemistry essential, plus at least one other science (usually Biology); IB: 32-34 to include Higher Level grades in Chemistry, plus at least one other science (usually Biology); BTEC: Typically Distinction to Double Distinction plus A Level Grade B in Chemistry
