The applied, inter-disciplinary nature of this course enables students to develop social research skills and specialist study in related areas of policy interest (for example education, health, housing, and immigration). Students are able to understand and contextualise UK social policy within broader European Union (EU) and international policy frameworks. Students are equipped with practical and transferable research and analytical skills needed for developing policy responses to service delivery provision. Whether you're a recent graduate; working in service delivery programmes and want to move into a policy role, or looking to change careers by moving into policy and social research – this programme will give you the research and analytical skills you need.

An undergraduate degree classification of 2.1 or above in a relevant discipline OR a professional qualification recognised as being equivalent to a good honours degree in a related area, for example, PG Cert/PG Dip in Education, Social Work, Social Care, Health Management, Local Government Studies, Social and Public Administration OR a minimum of 5 years professional experience, and/or research in a professional capacity with Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL) Level 7 vocational qualifications in a relevant field.
