In this course you will learn the skills, knowledge and experience you need to teach children from birth to eight years in early childhood centres, kindergarten and pre-primary, and junior primary classes to year 3. The course encompasses child development, the importance of family partnerships, and develops a sound knowledge of the curriculum learning areas. It will provide you with practical learning experiences in early childhood education settings. You will complete four professional experience placements in this course. These placements provide opportunities to practice and demonstrate the skills and knowledge gained under the supervision of a mentor teacher. There may be opportunities for a country, interstate or overseas placement.
