Internships Internships are critical for all economics students not planning to go immediately to graduate school. Elon University's students have recently completed internships in areas such as economic consulting for Ernst & Young and Bates White, investment research for Commonwealth Financial Network, financial advisory for Morgan Stanley, and finance management for Bank of America.

Test Scores International students may apply for admission to Elon without submitting SAT or ACT scores, as long as they have spent at least three years of high school outside of the United States. However, in order to be considered for some of our merit-based scholarships, you must submit test scores. If your native language is not English or you are attending a school where English is not the primary language of instruction you must demonstrate English proficiency by submitting the TOEFL or IELTS exam score. Minimum TOEFL score requirement: 80 (internet-based test) Minimum IELTS score requirement: 6.5 The Duolingo English Test will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Graduation Outcomes An economics degree provides an excellent foundation for a variety of professions, such as economic consultant, financial analyst, research economist, entrepreneur, lawyer, insurance underwriter, and civil servant. Elon Economics alumni work for employers such as the Federal Reserve Board, Bates White Consulting, Research Triangle Institute, NERA Economic Consulting, EY, Wells Fargo, Carolina Panthers, Credit Suisse, Accenture, GEICO and the Peace Corps. Alumni have also pursued graduate study in economics, law, urban and regional development, accounting, finance, management, public policy, and international studies.
