Overview

The University of Jaén is divided into nine centres: three faculties, three colleges (one affiliated), two technical colleges (Jaen Advanced Technical College and Lunares Advanced Technical College) and a research centre. In turn, there are 33 departments across which they have divided the teaching of the university.

 The University of Jaén is divided into following faculties: Faculty of experimental sciences; Faculty of Social sciences and Law; Faculty of Humanities and Education. There also are university schools: School of Health Sciences, School of Social Work, Affiliated School of Education Holy Family in Ubeda

University is divided into two campuses: Lunares and Jaen.

Entry requirements

Specific program requirements.

No qualification is required but all international students are expected to be proficient in Spanish language.

Undergraduate studies: the following admissions are avaliable. Admission from secondary education. Admission after completing a foreign university degree. Admission from a foreign university degree (transfer student).

International students who have completed their secondary education in a foreign country and want to gain admission to the first year of a UJA graduate program are required to: obtain official recognition (Convalidación y Homologación de Títulos Extranjeros) through the Spanish Ministry of Education  of their previous studies. Pass the official Spanish university entrance exams (PAU/Selectividad), which are taken twice a year in many of the countries of origin of the students or through the Spanish UNED. Take part in the online application process (Preinscripción) for choosing their desired degree program(s) according to their priorities. Register (Matrícula) for the degree program that the student has been assigned.Optionally, if the international student had already started a university degree abroad, s/he can benefit from the academic validation (Convalidación) of any previous university education by applying for it after the Matrícula procedure is over.


Master Program/ PhD: International students who have completed a university degree in a foreign country (and want to gain admission to a UJA official master program) can do so as long as they:  Obtain official recognition (Convalidación y Homologación de Títulos Extranjeros) through the Spanish Ministry of Education.  Take part in the online application process (Preinscripción) for choosing their desired degree program(s) according to their priorities (http://www.juntadeandalucia.es/economiainnovacionyciencia/sguit/), attaching a scanned copy of: proof of university degree homologación,  passport copy and home university official transcript of records and diploma (original version and sworn/notarized/legalized Spanish translation).
