The program creates a platform for understanding the involvement of surface science in biomedicine and biotechnology. You will get theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the areas of biomedical activities which require expertise beyond traditional disciplines of biomedicine, chemistry or biology.
Communication for Development (ComDev) is an interdisciplinary field combining studies on culture, media, communication and development. ComDev explores communication within contexts of articulating global and local processes of social change. The ComDev field is part science, part craft and part art, and its multidisciplinary academic foundations draw on aspects of development studies, anthropology, sociology and cultural studies. These multiple entry points create a rich framework for challenging hegemonic notions and knowledge, and engage with questions of social, cultural, economic and political power.
This is a two-year master’s programme that prepares students for research studies within computational-based sciences and technology. The courses offered give the students a broad perspective on material behaviours under different conditions, with a special focus on computational modelling of material mechanisms on different length scales. In addition, the programme covers relevant techniques associated with synchrotron light and neutron radiation used for experimental small-scale characterisations of materials. St
The programme focuses on the realisation of innovative IT services and systems. You will learn about the technologies and concepts essential for the development of modern information systems, which are typically complex and include cooperative components. Such technologies and concepts include software agents, service-oriented computing, middleware and ontologies.
Why do people commit crime? What can we do to prevent crime? What are the connections between mental health and substance use in relation to offending and victimisation? These are a few of the questions criminologists strive to answer. This is a multidisciplinary subject that includes a broader range of study areas beyond crime and utilises diverse theories as well as empirical research.
This programme combines the academic study of literature and linguistics, ultimately leading to specialisation in one of these disciplines. Through research and critical thinking about texts from many eras and genres, you will learn to develop, articulate and defend your ideas clearly and with confidence.
The programme examines the meaning and concept of Europe. In a broad sense, it provides three perspectives: the historical perspective; a focus on the European Union; and a regional perspective where Malmö's location in the middle of the Öresund region and proximity to Copenhagen is important.
This programme provides you with an understanding and knowledge of what constitutes human rights, how human rights are utilised and how the development of human rights is a result of transformation in the world. Human rights imply that all people are born free, are of equal value and have equal rights. But what rights prevail, how are they monitored and what happens when they are violated?
After graduation, students will be able to work with legal, political or ethical issues within the sphere of human rights. Students can also continue on to master's studies.
Program educates designers who can articulate and develop cutting-edge practices in key areas of interaction design: tangible and sensor-based interaction; wearable and embodied interaction; game design; participatory design practices; critical design; social innovation; and collaborative media development. Students approach these genres within a broad context that considers the social, political and ethical consequences of their designs.
Interaction design is an exciting field at the leading edge of technology innovation. Interaction designers aim to create experiences with products, services and environments which are not just useful and usable, but very often pleasurable, expressive and desirable. Learning interaction design is a matter of building a repertoire of methods, skills and theoretical perspectives. Importantly, you also develop a sensitivity to the critical role of stakeholders in design, the implications of design in society and your own sense of interaction aesthetics.
