The aims of this programme are: To give students a knowledge and understanding of the core areas in psychology consistent with ensuring that the programmes meet the British Psychological Society's accreditation requirements, To enable students to make use of psychological research methods and to develop an awareness of ethical issues in psychology, To provide students with the opportunity to carry out independent research in a psychological area of their choice, To encourage the development of knowledge and skills ( including literacy, numeracy, communication and IT skills) that will enable students to make appropriate career choices, To provide opportunities for students to gain work experience, To provide opportunities for students to gain experience of studying outside of the UK.

Applicants must be of age 17 and above and meet at least ONE of the following requirements: Higher Diploma in Psychology awarded by MDIS Diplomas related to Psychology from polytechnics Other Private Education Institutes (PEIs) or overseas qualifications (equivalent to 1st year EDP) with an entry requirement of 12 years of formal education*. Note: ^ Mapped against MDIS Higher Diploma by MDIS and approved by Coventry University; providing 120 general credits at undergraduate course Level 1 and 60 general credits at undergraduate course Level 2, by APL (Accredited Prior Learning). * Applicants may be required to undertake bridging modules to fulfil the required prerequisite knowledge and cope with the rigours of the course. English Language Requirements Applications are required to possess one of the following : A minimum C6 grade in English at GCE ‘O’ Levels MDIS Professional Certificate in English (PCIE) Letter from College/University clearly stating the Medium of Instruction of the highest qualification to be English IELTS 6.0 with each sub-band not lower than 5.5 or equivalent Students with IELTS 5.5 will be deemed to have the equivalent of 6.0 upon completion of MDIS pre-degree(s) programmes.
