The programme offers a well-integrated interdisciplinary core, while allowing you to adopt academic specialisms if you wish in your final two years. In so doing, you will obtain a broad and balanced perspective. This course shares modules and academic expertise across three departments at Birkbeck: Economics, Mathematics and Statistics, Geography and Politics. We have an excellent reputation for the quality of our teaching, providing training for diverse employers, including the Treasury and the Bank of England. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF), more than half of our research outputs in Economics were ranked world-leading or internationally excellent.

Applicants from Russia would be expected to have completed one year of a Bakalavr/Specialist Diploma at a recognised university with an average grade of at least 4/5 OR a recognised undergraduate Foundation course, which allows students the chance to progress onto Birkbeck’s Bachelor programmes.
