Overview
In 1865 the Cardiff School of Art opened in the Old Free Library Building, St Mary Street. The School of Art moved to the Technical Buildings in Dumfries Place in 1900, then The Friary in 1949, then to a new campus in Howard Gardens in 1965.
Cardiff Metropolitan University has student accommodation available close to its campuses in Cyncoed and at Plas Gwyn.
Cardiff Metropolitan University is made up of five academic schools:

Entry requirements
English language entry requirements:
Foundation: IELTS 4.5 overall with no sub score lower than 4.0
Undergraduate:IELTS 6.0 with no sub score lower than 5.5
Postgraduate: IELTS 6.0 overall with no sub score lower than 5.5
PhD: IELTS 6.5 overall with 6.5 in both reading and writing, and a minimum of 6.0 in the remaining components

Entry requirements vary to different regions.The University values both work experience and academic qualifications and will consider students from a wide range of academic backgrounds. Scholarship & funding
Cardiff Metropolitan University is a participating institution in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program. The US Department of Education loans money directly to students via their schools. We offer assistance to students (U.S. citizens only) seeking loans to study at either undergraduate or postgraduate level at the University.
Also Cardiff Metropolitan University has created a range of bursary and scholarship schemes to assist with the cost of studying at university.
