Overview

The students at Duquesne come from over 80 countries.

The 49 acre campus is on top of a hill in Pittsburgh. Students can join any of the 150 student organisations including 19 fraternities and sororities, and use two recording studios, a multipurpose recreation centre and a theater-classroom complex. Duquesne also houses the Tamburitzans, the oldest multicultural song and dance company in the US, which mixes Central and Eastern European dances and music. The campus is also one of the first in Pennsylvania to invest in green technology, such as an ice cooling system that reduces peak energy demands.

Duquesne’s athletics teams participate in NCAA Division I. Students can choose to take part in football, basketball, cross country, soccer, swimming, tennis, outdoor and indoor track and field, lacrosse, rowing, volleyball.


Entry requirements

Students WITH TOEFL or IELTS scores: No testing upon arrival to campus; placed directly into appropriate coursework. Students with TOEFL iBT of 70 or above or IELTS of 6.0 will begin full-time academic study upon arrival. 

Students WITHOUT TOEFL or IELTS scores: Students are tested on campus with Accuplacer exam and Writing Sample; placed into appropriate coursework upon completion.
