Hereford Cathedral School, one of the oldest schools in the country, located in the beautiful surroundings of Cathedral Close. A happy, inclusive school with a national reputation for music, sport, and academic achievement, offers pupils a personalised education helping individuals to set their sights high and feel valued for who they are. At Hereford Cathedral School from three year-olds in Nursery to 18 year-olds in Sixth Form, everyone enjoys the same level of individual, tailored education. Along with the small class sizes, fantastic results and the outstanding opportunities, we feel our greatest strength lies in our friendly, family, inclusive ethos, encouraged by excellent staff pupil relations and a highly supportive parent body. It is this ethos, widely recognised as a special characteristic of the School, that enables pupils, young and old, to excel both in and out of the classroom.

Entry requirements

A non-refundable registration fee of £250 must accompany the application.

All applicants will have a 10-15 minute Skype interview with the Headmaster. Applicants will normally have to sit three entrance tests in Maths, English and non-verbal reasoning.

Two references are required. One of these at least should be from the pupil’s current school. Academic results from the past three years must also be provided.

Once the application process has been completed, the school will send a Letter of Acceptance. A refundable deposit of £2500 is payable when a place at the school is accepted. A place at the school will be reserved once the first term’s fees have been paid.
