Career opportunities
There is considerable evidence of substantial current and projected shortages of qualified staff in hospitals and other health service and planning organisations, including government health departments, who have knowledge in health data analytics and the applications of digital health technologies. There is a need for new and emerging types of health workers with specific knowledge and skills in health data analytics and digital health.
There is also a very urgent need for currently practising health professionals and managers to upskill in digital health and analytics in order to work effectively and safely in the clinical digital health arena.
The Master of Healthcare Analytics (HMHCA) provides specialised knowledge and skills for individuals working in the area of health data analysis, and for those who wish to enter this field. Graduates will be qualified to work as Health Data Analysts or Health Data Scientists in hospitals and other healthcare facilities, and government health departments.
