Overview

Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture is a public technical college in Curtis, Nebraska. The college is part of the University of Nebraska system. 

NCTA is devoted to a statewide mission of preparing students for successful careers in agriculture, veterinary technology and related industries. It provides open access to innovative technical education resulting in associate degrees, certificates and other credentials.

NCTA’s areas of study:

- Agribusiness Management Systems;

- Animal Science & Agricultural Education;

- Veterinary Technology. 

Entry requirements

Applicants must have a high school degree or equivalent and meet the following requirements prior to being issued an I-20.
NCTA does not require a set number of high school courses to be admitted to the college. It does, however, recommend that students complete as many math, science, and English courses as possible to help ensure success while on campus.

English Proficiency:
Non-native English speakers must submit an IELTS or TOEFL score demonstrating proficiency in English. Applicants can contact their IELTS testing center or TOEFL to have their official scores sent directly to the University of Nebraska, Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture.

TOEFL Requirement: 70 with a writing score of 20
IELTS Requirement: 6.0 with a writing score of 5.5

Scholarship & funding

Jean and Richard Rawson Scholarship

Is awarded to incoming Nebraska resident students that graduate from high school with a 3.0 GPA or higher. The Rawson Scholarship award levels are:

4.00 CGPA - $2,500 Rawson Scholarship

3.99 - 3.50 CGPA - $2,000 Rawson Scholarship

3.49 - 3.00 CGPA - $1,500 Rawson Scholarship


Foundation Scholarships:

20 scholarships provided by the efforts of the University Foundation and the generosity of alumni and friends of NCTA. A committee selects these scholarship recipients each year based on the criteria established when the fund was set up.


Activity Scholarships

Activity scholarships may be awarded to students competing in Rodeo, Livestock Judging, and Trap. Scholarship recommendations are made by the head coach of his or her team.
