North Island College

North Island College(NIC) was initially established in the year 1975 to serve the small and dispersed population of coastal towns and villages with a distance education system. North Island College earned a well-deserved reputation as a leader in open learning. 1990 onwards the process of building physical campuses to serve the community began, and the school's Comox campus was opened in the year 1992 followed by Port Alberni’s campus in 1995 and the Campbell River campus in 1997.
