Overview

In addition to being a pioneer of commercial radio in BC, Sprott Shaw began one of the province's first flight schools. 

Today, Sprott Shaw has grown to 16 campuses across British Columbia. To date, Sprott Shaw is the oldest active education institution in British Columbia.

Employing the principles of adult education theory, Sprott Shaw's curriculum has expanded to include much more than office training, as students can now train for careers in Nursing, Healthcare, Business, Administration, Marketing, Trades, Design, Hospitality, Tourism, Education, and more. Over the past century, Sprott Shaw has maintained a sharp focus on equipping students with relevant skills for meaningful careers in high growth industries.

Sprott Shaw has distinct alumni including world-renowned artist, Emily Carr, and Bill Hughes who was the former CEO of the Vancouver Canucks.

Entry requirements

Admissions Requirements:

Copy of I.E.L.T.S score required is minimum 6.0 bands overall (No less than 5.5 in any module)

Copy of Grade 10 and 12 transcripts. (Minimum 60%).

Copy of Passport ( Front and Back)

Any other Educational Documents i.e. Bachelors, Masters Etc. (If Applicable Minimum 60%)

Program Specific Requirements


IELTS Requirements:

Business/ Hospitality/ Other programs – Overall 6.5 Bands ( No less than 6.0 in any module).

Academic Requirements:

Business/ Hospitality/ Other programs –  Mininimum 65% average in  all the qualifications such as; High school, Bachelors or Masters.

The PTE requirements for admission is as follow: All Master Degrees: 59 (with no section under 56), All Post Graduate Diplomas: 54 (with no section under 51), All UG Degrees/Diplomas: 54 (with no section under 51)

Admissions Procedures:

Submit the Documents:

Fill out application form with all educational related documents + Passport photocopy for the initial

Assessment.

Apply for Letter of Offer:

After the assessment of documents, an application fee of CAD $350 has to be paid to Institution in

order to release of Letter of Oer. Please note that it generally takes 2-3 Business days to process the

letter of oer after the payment of CAD $350 has been made.

Letter of Acceptance:

The Initial payment of all the regular programs is CAD $7000. For Practical Nursing Program, the initial deposit required for admission is CAD $10,000. After the payment has been made to the institution, it will generally take 4-5 business days to release the letter of acceptance by the institution.

Scholarship & funding

All awards, grants and scholarships (with the exception of the Military Grant, Since 1903 High School Scholarship and RJ Sprott Award), will be selected by the awarding committee, which will sit the first week of August each year. All applicants can start writing the essay using the following phrase “I believe I am a suitable applicant for this award because…” Successful applicants are required to commence in their program within six months of being notified.
