This is an accelerated degree, which is delivered over two years instead of the typical three years for an undergraduate course. The course aims to provide aspiring football coaches with the opportunity to acquire the appropriate skills and develop the specific knowledge required to gain employment in the football industry, both in the UK and internationally. This course is delivered by a highly motivated and well-qualified team of academics, as well as expert UEFA licensed football coaches. Staffordshire University works in close partnership with the Staffordshire F.A. to support the delivery of accelerated (two-year) BSc Football Coaching and Performance degree. It is a Top 20 UK Sports Science department [Guardian League Tables 2020] and the curriculum is supported and enhanced by the Staffordshire F.A.’s contributions of their subject specific expertise.

Applicants with minimum one year of a Bachelor at a recognised institution, with an average score of at least 3.5 out of 5 may be considered for entry International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with 28 points overall OR Successful completion of a relevant International Foundation Year from a recognised UK Institution IELTS score of 6.0, with 5.5 in reading, writing, speaking and listening.
Once you have graduated from the Football Coaching and Performance degree, you can progress in to a wide-variety of job roles in the sector, these could possibly include: Football coaches working in a football association accredited club developing football related skills, techniques and tactics of football performers. These posts are available world-wide, not just here in the U.K. Match analysts at professional sports clubs using state of the art performance analysis software (i.e. ProZone). Strength and conditioning coach providing advice and training to performer’s who are looking to develop their sport and exercise skills. Entrepreneurs in sport and leisure, setting up your own companies delivering specific coaching services. Possible progression to a Physical Education (PE) teacher training by completing a specific post-graduate teaching course.
