Each year also includes practical learning from the work field. In year 1 this occurs during the field trip; this is a one week study trip where students visit a country in Europe and meet with sport organizations in order for the students to learn about “the world of sports”. In the 2nd year students go on an internship during the second quarter of the year. During this internship the student receives work experience at the sport organization that hosts him/her. The internship needs to be outside of the Netherlands and preferably not in the home country of the student; this increases the international experience the student obtains during the study. Lastly, the students finalize the programme by implementing their final graduation internship at a sports organization of their choice, where they write their final graduation report/thesis.

International Sport Management is a three-year accelerated programme. To qualify, you will need 1) A secondary school diploma equivalent to that of a higher Dutch VWO, International Baccalaureate diploma or equivalent, 2) Meet the English language requirements . 3) After you have completed the enrolment via Studielink and have been approved as eligible, we will interview you on your affinity with sports and your motivation to make sure all ISPM students are equally motivated. This may sound quite daunting, but don’t worry, you won’t need to be a high-performing athlete to apply for ISPM. A passion for sports, a good head for business and an international outlook is the important foundation.
