The emphasis is in the biosciences then shifts towards disease processes, and limitations of forensic investigation of a wide range of physical evidence types. The final year develops your professional skills through a forensic research dissertation. In addition to the pursuit of core sciences, forensic investigation in the areas of anthropology and topics relating to archaeology and the degradation of human remains and physical materials are studied, which will develop your skills in forensic interpretation. This programme has been designed to deliver education and training in the essential core biomedical, chemical and forensic sciences to help you to become a skilled forensic practitioner. The programme integrates forensic investigation within each year of the course, and delivers a wide range of transferable skills, many of which are embedded within the scientific programme, as well as being acquired through modules in professional development. It will provide you with opportunities to focus on topics of particular interest in your final year of study. Degrees based on the biosciences prepare graduates for a wide range of careers including those in the professional medical and forensic sectors because of their broad basis and application.
