The Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (Early Childhood) (BTchLn(EarlyChildhood)) is an internationally recognised qualification that prepares you for a teaching career, educating children in their vital early years of life, from 0–6 years of age. This degree is available to study full-time or part-time. The Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (Early Childhood) requires 360 points: 105 points from Education courses 90 points from Professional Inquiry 60 points from Professional Practice 105 points from Curriculum Studies Students will be automatically enrolled in the required courses (indicated in the degree diagram above) each year of the degree. Courses integrate web-based material, audiovisual resources, video conferences, and email. Students will undertake a community engagement course, as well as attend professional practice placements in early childhood education centres for up to ten weeks per year.

Admission to UC with University Entrance (or equivalent) is required to enrol. The BTchLn(EarlyChildhood) has one intake each February. Selection for entry is based on: academic ability, involvement and interest in working with children, community involvement, communication skills, and other personal qualities as outlined in the Guide to Applying a police check, referees' reports, and an interview a short literacy and numeracy test. English language requirements: IELTS: Academic with an average score of 7.0; TOEFL iBT: Total minimum score of 100; TOEFL PBT: With a minimum score of 600; Pearson Test of English (Academic): PTE with an overall score of 65
