Educators don’t just teach subject matter, they guide and support students on pathways of learning. As an educator, your role changes from class to class, semester to semester, year after year. Education is for independent and passionate individuals who envision lasting positive changes in their local communities and across the world. Students must complete a Bachelor’s degree before applying to the B.Ed. degree. Our 11-month program includes 60 credit hours of coursework and in-school teaching experience. Hands-on learning: Because classroom experience is crucial to becoming an effective teacher, we provide students with a fully integrated practicum that includes three blocks: Initial (takes place during the first two weeks of school) Intermediate (occurs over three weeks in November/December) Advanced (seven weeks during the spring) Every Monday during the fall and winter terms Also, for those students studying Early Childhood Education, we provide practical experience in our on-site Children’s Centre, where students can observe and interact with the children on an ongoing basis while they complete the program.

Course requirements: Admission to the Bachelor of Education program at UNB Fredericton requires the completion of an undergraduate degree with a minimum cumulative grade point (CGPA) average of 2.7. Admission to the Bachelor of Education is highly competitive. The minimum CPGA stated may not be sufficient to secure a place. Minimum admission average: CPGA of 2.7 International students require the following English language proficiency minimum scores for direct entry into most academic programs: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 85, CAEL 60, or Pearson Vue Test 59.
