Study the chemistry of the earth. Make informed decisions and help solve earth science problems. Research and analyze the quantity and distribution of chemicals in rocks, minerals, fluids, and gases. Experience this and more with UNB’s specialized program in environmental geochemistry! This unique option provides you with a background to pursue careers or graduate studies in environmentally related geoscience fields, especially in areas related to water resources, contamination and remediation. Geochemists work at all levels of government agencies or teach at universities or research institutes. Geochemists are also employed by geochemical companies, petroleum and mining companies, and geology, geophysics and engineering consulting firms.

Course requirements: Senior English Literature, Senior Math, including Pre-Calculus, 1 other academic math, Senior Chemistry, 1 of Senior Physics, Senior Biology or Senior Geology (Senior Physics is required for entry into Health Sciences), 1 elective from group 1 or 2, Minimum admission average: 75% (The average marks in Pre-Calculus Math, Chemistry and the best other Science course must be at least 75%.). International students require the following English language proficiency minimum scores for direct entry into most academic programs: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 85, CAEL 60, or Pearson Vue Test 59.
