Program overview
Students will become sophisticated readers capable of finding hidden meanings in different kinds of texts, from epic poetry to national advertising campaigns and popular TV shows. They will also refine their academic and professional writing skills, and become adept at switching their style to suit different contexts.

Graduates go on to work in the media, the cultural heritage sector, the charity sector, the civil service, and industry. They become journalists, copywriters, podcasters, librarians, editors, teachers, social media marketers, policy advocates, and fundraising strategists - to name just a few! This is because they have learned to think deeply, and critically, about the culture that surrounds them, and to communicate complex ideas persuasively and accessibly for different audiences.
