Overview
University of the Potomac provides educational opportunities at the undergraduate and graduate level leading to career enhancement for its multicultural learners by offering affordable and accessible education in career-oriented disciplines. The practitioner-led curriculum, building on a strong foundation in general education, utilizes flexible online and campus-based teaching and learning models that feature small classes emphasizing learning through technology. Instruction is delivered by professionally and academically qualified faculty committed to student success.
Entry requirements
Official academic evidence of completion of secondary education (high school or equivalent) for undergraduate applicants or undergraduate for graduate applicants. Academic evidence should be translated into English. Document can be either:
— Original verification letter from secondary/high school institution officer or certified (attested) copy
— Original or certified (attested) copy of transcripts from secondary or post-secondary education
Proof of sufficient finances shown in U.S. currency/dollar. One or more of the following:
— Personal funds - official bank statement
— Sponsors – affidavit of support accompanied with official bank statement
— Scholarships – official scholarship letter
Official proof of English language proficiency (any one of the items listed below)
— TOEFL overall scores: undergraduate PBT 500 / graduate 550 or higher, IBT undergraduate 60 / graduate 79 or higher
— IELTS overall score: 6.0 undergraduate and 6.5 graduate
— Successful completion of the last three years of secondary education (high school or equivalent) in which the official language of the Country was English.
— Completion of at least 12 semester credit hours with at least a C average at a U.S. postsecondary institution (college or university) at which English was the language of instruction.
Pay U.S. $100 non-refundable application fee.
A copy of the photo page and address page of passport (2 pages).
Scholarship & funding
Scholarships may be available to qualified students throughout the year from outside organizations. It is the responsibility of the student to seek and complete any required information for obtaining a scholarship. The Financial Aid Office at your campus will assist students in gathering required information or completing forms necessary to submit an application.
