Overview

At TU Wien, university has been conducting research, teaching and learning under the motto 'Technology for people' for over 200 years. TU Wien has evolved into an open academic institution where discussions can happen, opinions can be voiced and arguments will be heard. Entry requirements

Applicants are required to provide proof of German skills at level A2 or higher at the time when they submit their application for admission to a German-taught programme at TUW. To get admitted at the degree programme applicants need German language skills at level C1. TUW only accept the certificates listed as proof of competence in German, opens an external URL in a new window language.

Applicants do not need a certificate of German language skills to register for and complete the selection or aptitude assessment procedure. But the tests are in German language. Therefore to participate successfully in the selection or the aptitude assessment procedure applicants need advanced German language skills (at least level B2).

Persons whose native language is not English have to prove their knowledge of the English language. For a successful course of study, English is recommended according to reference level B2 (equivalent to the Austrian Matura level) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Scholarship & funding

Merit scholarships are designed to fund students and graduates studying for a degree in recognition of their outstanding academic performance. Level of bursary: €750  to €1,500.
