With a focus on developing the knowledge and skills required for the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical pharmacy services, the course is underpinned by a student-led approach to learning and facilitates the acquisition of problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills. By combining academic and theoretical learning with experience of professional practice, the course helps you to develop the skills appropriate for the modern clinical pharmacy practitioner, and to face the challenges and make the most of the opportunities you will face in the future. Specialist practitioner e-tutors, teacher practitioners and academic staff facilitate learning in small groups with real-life problem-based scenarios, sharing knowledge, expertise and practice related experiences. In the Patient Centered Clinical Pharmacy Practice module you will develop the knowledge and skills required for the systematic synthesis, implementation, evaluation and communication of care plans for patients with complex pharmaceutical care needs. Your personal and professional practice will be developed in the Developing Personal Practice module by studying ways in which to promote effective communication and professionalism. You will also cover aspects of education and learning necessary for the professional development of other members of the healthcare team.

Applicants must satisfy the University's general admission requirements for undergraduate and postgraduate courses as contained in Academic Regulation A2: Admission, including proficiency to a minimum standard in the English language. SPECIFIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS An undergraduate degree in pharmacy from a UK university or overseas equivalent, at a minimum of honours level and two years post-registration experience OR an integrated master's degree in pharmacy (MPharm) and professional registration or in consultation with the Course Leader. CRIMINAL RECORDS/BACKGROUND CHECKS In addition to the above requirements, all applicants will be required to provide a formal record of any criminal convictions prior to starting the course. A criminal records or background check will be required from any country in which the applicant has lived for 6 months or more since the age of 16 years. All students starting the course will also be required to complete a Protection of Vulnerable Groups check prior to commencing the placement component of the course. HEALTH SCREENING Prior to commencing the course, students will be made aware of current health and immunisation requirements. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS International students seeking an English language waiver are required to meet, and evidence, the following criteria: (i) Must have obtained their Pharmacy Undergraduate degree at master's (MPharm) level from a UK University OR (ii) Must have obtained their Pharmacy Undergraduate degree at BSc (Hons) level from an international University equivalent to a UK BSc (Hons) degree recognised by UK NARIC and must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and have worked in the UK.
