Program overview
As your freshman year draws to a close, you’ll take an important professional step and declare a concentration in one of seven principal fields of business. D’Amore-McKim students who concentrate in finance, will be prepared for careers in financial management, security analysis, investment management, private equity, venture capital, financial consulting, risk management with corporations, insurance companies and other financial institutions.
Changes on the financial scene, rising securities prices, fluctuating inflation and interest rates, and scarcity of capital have created an awareness that financial knowledge is essential to the effective management of business firms. Focus your studies in one or more of the following areas: corporate finance, investments and portfolio analysis, financial risk management, and real estate. Study how economic systems operate and how money markets work within those systems; learn how to analyze economic trends and the movement and distribution of money.
