In this program, you will develop the in-demand taxation skills needed to tackle the issues and challenges encountered in the global marketplace. Our curriculum was designed to focus on immersive, applied knowledge for working professionals looking to take what they learn in the classroom and apply it the very next day in their careers. We combine real-world taxation expertise with forward-thinking academics to help position you for career acceleration. Expand your professional network by connecting with other tax professionals working in top accounting firms and businesses in Northeastern’s alumni network. Develop relationships with leading professionals currently working in taxation, finance and accounting that teach many of your classes. And forge relationships with fellow students who are also engaged tax professionals. You will learn from them as they learn from you. Take the next step in your taxation career by attaining a deep understanding of relevant, practical insights in a dynamic classroom environment.

If you’re applying from a high school outside of the United States: please read the International Applicants page English Proficiency: All students, regardless of citizenship must demonstrate English language proficiency when applying to Northeastern. You can meet the requirement if: English is your native language. You have lived, and studied, at a high school for 4 consecutive academic years, in the United States or another majority native English speaking country. You submit, along with your application, official test results directly from the testing agency for one of the following English language proficiency tests: TOEFL iBT IELTS Academic PTE Academic C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency
Our MS in Taxation program will not only provide you with the knowledge base and skills you need in order to be successful in accounting, it will also provide you with a strong network that will enable you to grow and develop your career. The timing of the program enables candidates to work during busy season, when tax professionals are in demand. The majority of MST students either work full-time or have job offers contingent on completing their degree. These students are welcome to visit with an advisor or faculty member to review career options, refine their resumes, make alumni connections and gain insight to career advancement. Students who enter the program without existing job offers receive assistance in their career search. Advisors are available to meet with candidates to better understand their aspirations, critique and circulate resumes to surrounding firms and hiring agencies, and conduct mock interviews. Faculty referrals and career guidance are also available.
