The course has flexibility to allow you to choose topics that both complement and extend your undergraduate studies. It offers studies in all areas of the mathematical sciences, with an emphasis on modern applied mathematics. You can select studies in areas such as algebra, methods of applied mathematics, complex analysis, partial differential equations, statistical science, stochastic processes and standards, ethics and compliance.

Applicants must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent in mathematics or statistics or a closely related discipline from an approved institution. Applicants with an approved degree that contains substantial mathematics or statistics (equivalent to at least second-year level mathematics topics at Flinders) are also eligible to apply. The Master of Science is not available to students who hold an honours degree in the same discipline.
