Program overview

This course leads to two separate degrees: the Bachelor of Visual Arts, and the Bachelor of Arts. You will gain all the benefits of each degree course (see Bachelor of Fine Art/Bachelor of Arts) and be fully equipped to pursue a career drawing on either separately or to combine the two in your chosen work. Arts combined with Visual Arts can open doors in the creative economy and provide opportunities in a diverse range of public contexts. You'll develop the kind of transferable skills employers are looking for - communication, teamwork, research, critical thinking and cultural sensitivity. You'll be equipped for a career in the arts industry as a curator, arts writer, theorist or art educator or to work in museums, galleries, community arts programs, art and design consultancies or arts/cultural conservation organisations. In addition, you'll be prepared for many interdisciplinary careers roles in cultural programs for community, government or business, arts management, art and design criticism, publishing and art therapy.
