Understand how the body and disease work. You will learn how to work with healthcare professionals to conduct clinical tests, evaluate the effectiveness of treatments and research disease causes and cures. Study molecular and cellular biology (molecular biology, human genetics, developmental biology, immunology and infectious diseases) through to body systems (Physiology, neuroscience, anatomy and pharmacology). Graduate with a respected qualification, or use your degree as an excellent pathway to a research-based honours program. You can also use the bachelor's program as a foundation for graduate entry health and medicine programs.
This program can be done
Queensland Year 12 or equivalent English and Mathematics B plus one of Chemistry or Physics. 6.5 overall and a minimum of 6.0 in each sub-band of the IELTS
The Bachelor of Biomedical Science will help you to embark on your career in: hospital and diagnostic clinical laboratories, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, laboratory work in molecular and cellular biology, health policy and communication, and secondary schools or other educational institutions, when combined with a teaching qualification. This program also provides an excellent pathway to study medicine or allied health programs.
